Santogold

Hello, interwebs.

This is my blog, in which I'll talk about what music I'm listening to, good and bad.

If anyone reads this, I'm very sorry.

Okay, so Santogold's self-titled album leaked, and despite the obvious comparisons to M.I.A., the album really has its own groove separate from Maya. Sure, a few songs like, "Control," could easily be mistaken for songs on "Kala," but what sets "Santogold" apart is that it isn't all about politics and digital beats. M.I.A. made political music that you can dance to. Santogold makes more accessible and relatable music that you can dance to, and even sort of chill out to.

Favorites so far:
"You'll Find A Way" Regular and Remix versions
"Lights Out"
"I'm a Lady"

My thoughts haven't been fully assembled on Santogold, but once I listen to it more (on drugs), I'll have more to say.

Tomorrow I'll post a review of Cajun Dance Party's "The Colourful Life."
